Cottage Grove’s first hotel is now open
COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (WMTV) – There’s room in the village’s first hotel of Cottage Grove, an 82-room Comfort Suites just off Interstate-94 and the N freeway.
“We are more than ready for a hotel and we really needed it. The Village has known this for some time and has really played an important role in achieving this goal, ”said Joe Wagner, CEO of Greywolf Partners Inc. who developed and owns the hotel.
Wagner also owns the BBJack restaurant next door, which is now connected to the hotel by a large outdoor patio with tables and an entertainment area. BBJack’s will provide a catering service to hotel guests and can deliver meals directly to their doorstep.
“We effectively turned a limited-service hotel into a full-service hotel,” Wagner explained.
The hotel has conference rooms, a continental breakfast room, a gym, and a swimming pool, but village chiefs say its location is one of its most attractive features. .

“We have the highway and the highway N here. It’s a great place to get in and out, quick access to the freeway if they choose to go to Milwaukee or Madison, ”said John Williams, Village President of Cottage Grove.
The project took years of working with the Village of Cottage Grove and is funded by tax increase funding.
“Certainly in the surrounding community, it’s just wonderful accommodation for residents or those who choose to visit here,” said Williams.

Williams said the hotel’s completion is just another sign of growth for Cottage Grove, with more and more people choosing to work, live and visit this budding community.
“I think it speaks well to the community that is here and established for a long time and to the residents who are here. I think they’re very welcoming, ”said Williams.
A ribbon cutting for the hotel is scheduled for November 18 at 10:15 a.m.
