Monica Balli hosted 13 event and wedding planners in Italy
Thirteen event and wedding planners from four continents, representing large destination and production event agencies or well-known multinationals, spent two weeks in Italy.
The planners visited central and southern Italy as part of Monica Balli Events 2021 reboot familiarization trip. Planners have discovered new destinations with Monica Balli.
Much more than a familiarization trip, much more than an inspection of the site, it was a total prolonged and deep immersion in the beauties, flavors and traditions of a very suggestive (and beloved) part of Bel Paese.
It was the fifth such event, which until 2019 was held annually and limited its view to Tuscany.
It all started in Ladispoli (Rome), in the magnificent hotel La Posta Vecchia, where the group stayed for two days: a journey through history perfectly summarizing the magic of Italy, between Renaissance romanticism, festivals of the time of Pompeii and contemporary relaxation. The hotel, belonging to the Pellicano Hotels group, is affiliated to both The Leading Hotels and Virtuoso.
The participants then moved to Ischia, which has long been proposed as a new destination for events and travel, thanks to its thermal, historical and cultural heritage as well as its proximity to Naples and the Amalfi Coast (just an hour’s drive from the of them). The stay, which lasted until the 18th, was organized under the aegis of Ischia Is More, a promotional consortium of entrepreneurs, managers and tour operators, as well as with the contribution of Foraday, a local tour operator who organized both geological and archaeological activity. at sea to discover the history of the island’s seabed and a visit to the gardens of Ravino, famous for their succulent plants.
Three hotel facilities welcomed planners to Ischia: the Mezzatorre hotel, belonging to the Pellicano Hotels group like La Posta Vecchia and also affiliated to Leadingand Virtuoso, a hotel complex on a private bay with a suggestive Spanish tower; Botania Relais & Spa, hotel complex as well, inside a three-acre garden comprising aromatic plants, fruits and thermal water pools; and the San Montano Resort & Spa, affiliated with The Small Leading Hotels of the World, among charming decorations and furniture as well as thermal pools enhancing the splendid view between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of San Montano. The farewell dinner was based on the typical local cuisine of La vigna di Alberto.
Next, the group traveled to Amalfi, in the brand new Borgo Sant’Andrea, a magnificent five-star hotel nestled just below a cave along the main Amalfi road, down to the sea. The views are unique as well as the design and fashion touch that characterizes the living room.
Fourth stop: Paestum, just an hour’s drive from Amalfi. The Savoy Beach Hotel is a hotel full of history and charm. Perfect for large and small events, practically the only carbon neutral hotel in the world, it has a buffalo farm for mozzarella and yogurt which are exported everywhere, as well as an amazing restaurant with unforgettable wines and dishes . The Spa will be inaugurated in January 2022.
And, in grand finale, Naples, the Starhotel Terminus, which is part of the prestigious collection of 30 hotels of the Fabri family, across Italy, New York, London and Paris.
Monique Balli said: “I am honored and delighted to have put my know-how as a lifestyle familiarity travel planner at the disposal of my country and its desire for rebirth. The planners who have visited these wonderful places with me are absolute leaders in their fields and move people – and personalities – across the world. It is precisely for this reason that they collaborate and share opinions with each other, in order to exceed their own excellence: this is what I call networking.
This experience was a golden opportunity for tourism, which will certainly bear abundant fruit given the many expressions of interest, and will surely help the industry to recover ”.
