Osimhen and Oshoala win big at the 2022 Ballers Awards
Several Nigerian sports players were in attendance as footballers and journalists were recognized for their achievements during the year.
At the awards ceremony, there were winners in 16 different categories
Attending the awards were Lagos State Sports Commission Chairman Sola Aiyepekun, First Vice President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Lawyer Seyi Akinwunmi and Super Eagles legend , Chief Segun Odegbami.
Some personalities who presented the awards include Big Brother Naija Lockdown Housemate Ozoemena as well as renowned sports presenters Deji Omotoyinbo, Charles Anazodo, Mozez Praiz.
2022 Ballers Awards Winners
After a stellar season with Napoli, Super Eagles star Osimhen won both Striker of the Year and Ball of the Year for the men.
Asisat Oshoala received the awards for Fan Favorite Ballerina and Ballerina of the Year.
Odegbami received the Legendary Baller award, Zaidu Sanusi was chosen as the best defender of the year while Bassey received the Newcomer of the year award.
Newly married Genk striker Paul Onuachu was awarded the Super Eagles Goal of the Year award, Goalkeeper of the Year went to Maduka Okoye, Joe Aribo was named AS Midfielder year.
Tunisian Esperance striker Anayo Iwuala received the award for best local player while Kennedy Boboye was voted coach of the year.
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa was named Humanitarian of the Year, Ajani Waheed went home with the Most Promising Baller award.
