Residents seek last-minute, budget travel packages
United Arab Emirates – Residents are starting their holidays in full swing, as summer holidays for schools and blistering heat begin.
However, many residents are still looking for pocket-friendly travel packages.
Travel agents have introduced packages starting at Dh1,919 to popular destinations like Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, among others.
These packages include accommodation, return tickets, visas, transfers and tours.
Libin Varghese, Sales and Marketing Manager, Rooh Tourism, says they have received inquiries about package prices and availability.
“To meet the needs of residents who want a memorable vacation and who have no choice because of the high price, we have formulated a package for Georgia during the last week of July.”
“This 4 days, 3 nights is a Dh1,919 discounted package which includes return tickets, 3 star hotel accommodation, 4 days of comprehensive tours, all entrance fees, insurance , transfers and many more,” added Varghese. .
The departure of the group is scheduled for July 30 and “the slots are soon exhausted”.
The flight will be operated by Air Arabia from Abu Dhabi to Tbilisi.
Another travel aggregator, Subeesh U, sales manager, Tours On Board, said he receives almost 50 inquiries every day for budget holidays.
“We are working on a user-friendly summer package for Armenia, the Baltic region, Kazakhstan and other countries.”
“Due to high demand, prices have skyrocketed,” Subeesh said.
He mentioned that residents now prefer Kazakhstan. “The country has announced 14-day visa-free entry for Indian, Iranian and Chinese citizens, and people are contacting us to set up a budget,” Subheesh added.
Aggregators are also working on more economical travel packages to other destinations in August.
Parents’ fate resolved
Khaleej Times spoke to a few parents to understand the reason for postponing their vacation.
“We had planned our trip for a long time but we were waiting for the right time to book the tickets,” said Shahbaz Shaikh Ali, a Pakistani expat residing in Dubai.
Ali had to plan a later vacation at the end of August. “A few travel agents charge Dh3,000-4,000 for a 4-day, 3-night trip to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Ali said.
“My children, Tahir Shaikh Ali and Fatima Aliza, who study at the Arab Unity School, want to go on vacation. So, I’m still looking for an option to take them.
Merin Anthony has the same concern. “I had booked the tickets through Rooh Tourism as it was the cheapest package available and the itinerary included everything the others had to offer,” said Anthony.
“We have to leave on July 30 for four days and my whole family is very excited,” added Anthony.
