Sleep at Sofitel Adelaide thanks to Sealy

You have just finished providing luxury beds at the Sofitel Adelaide. Tell us about the smooth ordering process for Sealy and the discussions with Accor about what the hotel was looking for?

It was a very long negotiation that took over six weeks to negotiate [and] after many back and forths, we finally got there.

How were the production, delivery and installation processes for Sealy?

The installation took place over a period of six weeks during the months of August and September. We had started production of these parts much earlier to make sure we had them ready when the hotel needed them. Installation has been delayed a few times due to construction delays.

Our team found it quite difficult to complete the installation while not only having to wear full construction PPE (including steel hooded safety boots, long sleeves, high visibility, etc.), but also by being fully masked most of the time.

Head of National Trade Accounts for Sealy Australia, Antony Raiteri.

What can you tell us about the product that was ordered and the models installed.

Produced from the Sealy bedding plant in SA, Sofitel received the “My Sofitel” mattress built to Accor specifications. We also provided them with a fabric base to match the upholstery around the headboards in the bedrooms.

We had to source from outside our usual fabric supplier. It was a charcoal gray leather-look fabric. The fabric has been fully tested by our research and development team in Brisbane to ensure it meets all of our standards for strength and durability.
